University of Minho’s 2C2T Researchers Ranked in the World’s Top 2% Most Cited Scientists 2025

The Centre for Textile Science and Technology (2C2T) at the University of Minho proudly announces that Andrea Zille, Helena Felgueiras, and Raúl Fangueiro have been recognized among the world’s Top 2% most cited scientists in 2025, according to the World’s Top 2% Scientists list, compiled by Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier.

This annual ranking highlights the most influential researchers across 22 scientific areas and 174 disciplines, based on metrics such as publication volume, citation impact, and h-index, using Scopus database data up to August 2025. The list promotes scientific excellence while maintaining transparency and minimizing biases such as self-citation.

The 2025 edition includes around 236,000 scientists worldwide, with 984 affiliated to Portuguese institutions. The University of Minho has 69 researchers included, representing 17 research units, demonstrating the university’s growing global leadership in textile research, advanced materials, and scientific innovation.

The recognition of Andrea Zille, Helena Felgueiras, and Raúl Fangueiro underscores the international impact and scientific significance of 2C2T, positioning it as a leading hub for research and innovation in textiles and related technologies.

This achievement reflects not only the dedication and excellence of our researchers but also 2C2T’s commitment to advancing knowledge with strong societal and industrial relevance, reinforcing the University of Minho’s reputation as a driver of innovation and scientific leadership worldwide.
