Full Professor Raúl Fangueiro, from the Department of Textile Engineering (DET) and a member of the Textile Science and Technology Center (2C2T), was recently invited by the government to join the National Council for Science, Technology, and Innovation (CNCTI). This invitation reflects recognition of his contributions to the advancement of science and technology in Portugal, particularly in the textile field.
The CNCTI is a consultative council to the government, working in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy and Maritime Affairs and the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Higher Education. Its mission is to develop, strengthen, and support the national scientific and technological system. The Council’s role is to provide scientific advice and promote cross-sector and interministerial dialogue on policies related to science, technology, and innovation.
The council comprises 20 distinguished individuals from various fields of knowledge and economic sectors, including academic, scientific, and business leaders, with a broad diversity of institutional and regional representation.
