Student Fernanda Cordeiro Lopes Gonçalves, from the Bachelor’s program in Textile Engineering, was distinguished as one of the winners of the UMinho Award for Initiation in Scientific Research 2024, with the ceremony held on December 5th at the Gualtar Campus, in Braga.
Fernanda, a student of Professor Jorge Padrão, Junior Researcher at 2C2T – Centre for Textile Science and Technology, presented high-quality results at the event, where 30 students from undergraduate and early years of integrated master’s programs at the University of Minho participated.
The ceremony was also attended by Professor Andrea Zille, director of 2C2T, who served on the jury of one of the evaluation panels.
This award, annually promoted by the UMinho Rectorate, aims to encourage student involvement in real research contexts, offering them the opportunity to collaborate with teams of recognized scientific merit and deepen their interest in science and innovation.
