Helena Felgueiras, Andrea Zille and Raúl Fangueiro are among the most cited scientists in the world. The researchers from the Centre for Textile Science and Technology (2C2T) are among the 66 scientists from University of Minho who rank within the top 2% most cited worldwide over the past year, according to a study by Stanford University (USA) and the Elsevier publishing group.
The list, called “World’s Top 2% Scientists 2024”, includes 223 thousand scientists, 889 of which are linked to institutions in Portugal. The University of Minho appears with 18 units represented, one of them being 2C2T. Check the complete list.
The document presents the best researchers on the planet in 22 areas and 174 disciplines, considering their index, the volume of publications and citations of their work, according to data from the Scopus database until August 2024. This annual list appeared in 2019, with the objective of creating a public repository on the impact and influence of researchers on the progress of scientific knowledge and to combat abuses of self-citation.
