The Master in Textile Engineering (MET) enhances graduates’ skills in designing, developing, and producing textile products. It offers two specializations: Advanced Materials and Technologies, and Functional Materials and Finishing. The program aims to enhance specific skills in emerging domains within Textile Science and Technology. With a flexible and multidisciplinary curriculum, graduates gain advanced knowledge and develop skills to meet industry demands, promoting innovation and development in textiles.
The Master’s Degree in Design and Innovation of Textile Products and Accessories offers specialized postgraduate training in various areas of the fashion industry and technical aspects of textiles and accessories. The curriculum covers a wide range of applications, with optional courses to enhance students’ skills. Emphasis is placed on practical project development, either individually or in groups.
The Master’s degree offers advanced specialization in various areas related to the textile and fashion industry, focusing on marketing, communication (both in-person and digital), promotion, and presentation of fashion products and services. These skills are crucial for effective communication within the value chain, involving clients, suppliers, distributors, retailers, social media, influencers, and other professionals. The curriculum includes optional units to enhance students’ skills, with emphasis on practical projects developed individually or in groups, often in collaboration with companies.
The study cycle provides postgraduate education in Micro and Nano Technologies, complementing graduates’ Science and Engineering education. It offers specialized training in various micro and nanotechnology applications like medicine, biology, telecommunications, industry, sports, electronics, textiles, and aeronautics. The program focuses on advanced training in manufacturing, processing, and characterization techniques for micro and nano systems. It also covers sensor technologies and electronics for micro and nano structures.
The purpose of the Doctoral Program in Textile Engineering is to train a highly skilled new generation of experts and researchers in the field of Textile Science and Technology, able to work independent research, development and innovation in a university or business environment, in order to contribute to the creation of new knowledge that potentiates the interaction between the university and the business world and contribute to the competitiveness and sustainability of the textile and clothing (ITV) national and European industry.
The PhD in Fashion Design, a partnership between the University of Minho and the University of Beira Interior, aims to advance high-level fashion design training in a knowledge-based society. It promotes multidisciplinary teaching involving culture, marketing, and technology, fostering fundamental and applied research integrated into associated Research Units. The course trains highly qualified specialists and researchers for autonomous research, development, and innovation in academia or business, enhancing interaction between the University and industry for competitiveness and sustainability.
